Transcription: Ice ridges are formed from the expansion of the ice sheet mainly and also a small part has to do with sheets of ice in the springtime being driven up the shore from heavy winds. And a good way to deal with ice ridges is to simply revegetate the sides and the tops of these ridges and this will minimize the erosion that takes place along these ridges and really provide a unique natural habitat for your lake system. Ridges are a natural component of the lakeshore and really they should be protected and should be a component of your lakeshore restoration.
